Mixing emotive vocals with hypnotic rhythmic melodies, Hollywood-based producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Waves_On_Waves provides songs that are as calm and comforting as a soft blanket with the occasional kick to the teeth. Beyond the gentle croon of the vocals and modern pop polish, Waves_On_Waves reestablishes the piano as a rock & roll instrument, commanding the keys with both intimacy and aggression. After releasing volumes of synthwave and electronic dance collaborations, Waves_On_Waves will pause to realign, following instincts to return focus on haunting piano-based compositions. In an interview with Pitchfork Magazine at SXSW, Waves_On_Waves summarized, “If a song sounds great stripped to its bare essence, it’s guaranteed to sound stellar once fully produced.” Standing on their own, the confessional piano ballads, orchestrated meditations, and stripped-down poetics are crafted to infiltrate your aesthetic core with healing propensities and envelop you as if metaphysically applying ointment to a scar.
